Mark 5:35 – 6:6

As we continue in the fifth chapter of Mark, we learn the fate of the young girl that Jesus was headed to see before the incident with the bleeding woman.

As he was finishing up speaking with the woman, someone came and told the group that sadly the young girl had died. That it was not worth bothering Jesus anymore as there was no hope.

But Jesus told them:

Do not fear, only believe.

Mark 5:36

I am not sure about you, but my initial instinct would have been fear and sadness, but Jesus tells us something different.

He makes his way in the home and lays his hands on the girl.

Talitha cumi…Little girl, I say to you, arise.

Mark 5:41

And immediately the girl was up and walking. Like nothing had happened, there she was alive and well.

When all seemed hopeless and lost, the parents placed their trust in Jesus, and a miracle happened.

Throughout the bible, we see these examples where all seemed dark, hopeless, and lost, but when people place their trust in God, everything comes together. Now it may not be right away. It may not be exactly what was envisioned by the person, but it glorified God and fulfilled his purpose.

Don’t think that these things ended after the last book of the bible was written. These things continue to happen every day. We just have lost the art of writing them down and sharing them. I personally think we need to share more of our God stories. Shout them from the rooftops! How do we expect people to believe in a God that people keep hidden? How can we believe in miracles if we don’t tell others what happened?

I think oftentimes we may feel that no one would believe us or that people would pass judgment. And, they might. But you never know who your story could impact.

If you have a miracle story, share it below in the comments or on this post on Facebook. We need to keep sharing our stories like this one of the little girl who arose through the faith of her parents in Jesus.

Today, I pray you will see the miracles happening all around you and you will share these with others to spread the good news.
